This book is NOT in the league of ‘This Is Going To Hurt’ by Adam Kay. No where near in terms of humour and connecting to the Dr or any of the patients. That being said, it was very enjoyable.
There are a lot of humorous anecdotes that remind me of my own job in customer services, however he does come across as quite arrogant, snobbish and out of touch with the world. He refers to ‘council estate’ people negatively but us in the real world know you can’t tar everyone with the same brush…
I listened to this on Audible and I did not get on with the narration. It felt like a textbook was being recited rather than humorous memoirs, but it was a good book and I did enjoy it overall.
